NAB AFLW Draft Combine Review: Nicky Steel

Sydney’s Nicky Steel says she was happy with the results produced at the inaugural AFL Women’s Draft Combine, held last week in Melbourne.
A part of the four-player strong AFL NSW/ACT contingent taking part in the event, the Mosman Swan impressed with her agility scores, for someone who she says has not been historically agile.
For a tall athlete, Steel also performed well in the Smartspeed 20m Sprint. Clocking a time only 0.41 milliseconds behind the best performer for the event, AFL NSW/ACT’s Pippa Smyth, Steel was ranked 15th overall for the sprint exercise.
